Train service down on Bukit Panjang LRT line due to power fault, 2nd time in Jul. 2025

Train services on the Bukit Panjang LRT line were unavailable at all stations on the line on the afternoon of Jul. 19 due to a power fault.

This is the second such disruption on the line this month.

Four trains stalled between stations

At 2:50pm, SMRT said in a post on X that due to a power fault, train service was not available at all stations on the Bukit Panjang LRT line.

Commuters were advised to use free regular buses or bridging buses outside the stations.

At 2:58pm, SMRT Trains president Lam Sheau Kai said on the rail operator's Facebook page that the power fault had occurred at about 2:45pm, and resulted in four trains being stalled between stations.

Commuters were guided by staff to alight from the stalled trains and proceed to the nearest stations.

In-train and station announcements were made to keep commuters updated on the situation.

"Our engineers are on-site to investigate and resolve the issue. We are sorry for affecting your afternoon commute," said Lam Sheau Kai.

Train services progressively resuming: SMRT

At 3:22pm, SMRT shared an update that train services are progressively resuming to normalcy.
