1 taken to hospital after cement truck topples over opposite Chinatown Point
Cement everywhere.
One person was sent to hospital after a cement truck toppled on the road near a junction in Chinatown on Jul. 19.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Mothership that it was alerted to the accident along Eu Tong Sen Street at about 5pm.
Cement spilled everywhere
A Mothership reader who was at the scene said she heard a loud “boom” before driving past the toppled truck.
The truck had toppled opposite Chinatown Point, near the junction of Eu Tong Sen Street and Upper Cross Street.
Pictures of the aftermath showed a large amount of cement had spilled across the road and pedestrian walkway.

At least two fire engines and an ambulance responded to the scene.

SCDF said that it conveyed one person to Singapore General Hospital.
