iPhone 17 Pro Max most expensive option
Why are iPhones more expensive in Singapore than in the U.S.?
iPhones cost more in Singapore than in the U.S. owing to a few factors, such as the currency exchange rate.
The basic iPhone 17 in the U.S. costs US$799 (S$1,025) before taxes.
Taxes differ depending on the state.
At check-out, they can cost more.
In Singapore, the same phone is retailing for S$1,299, as listed on the Apple store.
The Singapore price includes the 9 per cent goods and services tax (GST), as well as related import duties.
However, it is unclear if the recent tariff announcements have affected Apple's supply chain costs.
