A 66-year-old woman passed away after a GetGo car crashed into a pasar malam stall at Block 52A Circuit Road in Geylang on Jul. 11 night.

The car driver, a 40-year-old male, was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and driving without a licence and insurance.

Aftermath

The aftermath of the fatal collision was caught on camera by an onlooker, and the photos were uploaded to Facebook.

The post caption claimed that the deceased was a stallholder.

In one of the photos, a black GetGo car appeared to have rammed through the stall before crashing into a flight of stairs.

Several items, including foam boxes, kitchenware, and a foldable table, were scattered on the stall's floor.

In the other photo, a police car could be seen parked in front of the stall.

Two police officers were seen talking to another individual.

Police investigations ongoing

In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) confirmed that they were alerted to the collision at around 11:45pm on Jul. 11.

Without confirming whether the deceased was a stallholder, the police said the 66-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene by a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) paramedic.

Police investigations are ongoing.
