One clip on Facebook shaming the convoy of foreign-registered cars received 9,700 reactions.

The area the cars was parked at is a known no-go zone.

All four vehicles appeared to be Nissan GTR and were parked outside a swanky restaurant.

Police arrived

According to Thai reports, the public outcry sparked swift Phuket police action.

Traffic officers were dispatched to address the situation immediately.

Upon arrival, officers verified that the vehicles displayed foreign licence plates and summoned the drivers to the scene.

Photos and videos showed the wheels of the vehicles being cable locked by police.

The drivers were reportedly fined on the spot.

Thai media also reported that the decisive action was met with widespread approval from locals, who praised the authorities for applying the law equally.

Phuket police reminded all drivers, both Thai and foreign, that red-and-white kerbs mean no parking and violators face fines on the spot, according to Thaiger.
