Same man allegedly seen on North-South Line MRT train nudging himself against women's bottoms more than once
An eyewitness intervened by informing the commuter affected to step forward.
A woman in Singapore claimed that she has seen a man on the MRT train rubbing his crotch against women's bottoms on more than one occasion.
She decided to go public with her account to alert others to the man's antics.
At Jurong East MRT station
The commuter told Shin Min Daily News that she last saw the man board a North-South Line MRT train at Jurong East MRT station on May 13 at about 6:35pm.
She said she felt someone squeezing into the carriage from behind her a few seconds after she boarded the train.
When she turned around, she recognised the man as she had seen him previously about half a year ago at the same station.
He was about 30 years old, 170cm, had a slim build, and wore a short-sleeved shirt and long sweat pants.
He was seen walking behind a woman and allegedly used his crotch to press against the woman's buttocks.
The eyewitness took photos and videos at the time, and informed the woman affected to step forward away from the man.
After the man got off at Bukit Batok MRT station, she showed the woman the video she took.
The woman who was allegedly inappropriately touched thanked the eyewitness.
Modus operandi
The same man was seen again at Jurong East MRT station a day after the incident, the eyewitness said.
She claimed that she saw him loitering on the platform apparently looking for a target.
If there was no woman he wanted to follow into the carriage, he would still board the train, ride it for one stop, got off, and apparently then returned to Jurong East MRT station.
The woman subsequently made a police report and informed station staff about the man's behaviour.
What happened six months ago
On the last occasion that the woman saw the man behaving suspiciously, he was allegedly seen in close proximity to a woman, almost as if he was "clinging" on to her.
The woman did not intervene at the time, as she was worried she would be accused of getting in between a legitimate couple.
It was only after the man got off the train by himself that she realised that he and the woman he was standing close to were not together.
