U.S. president Donald Trump and Elon Musk are having a very public feud.

It started with Musk leaving the Trump administration.

Musk literally got a black eye, which was reportedly caused by one of his sons.

The exit came days after Musk publicly criticised Trump's "big, beautiful" bill while speaking to CBS News, which included multi-trillion dollar tax breaks and an increased commitment to defence spending.

Musk felt that it had undermined the "cost-cutting" work he did for Trump, and said he was "disappointed".

The bill is expected to "significantly widen national deficits".

The two, however, appeared to have left on relatively good terms.

But some time after his exit from the administration, Musk criticised Trump's bill once again.

This set off a very lengthy back-and-forth over a few days.

These exchanges include Musk retweeting Trump's previous words to seemingly show the hypocrisy of the bill.

And calling for the bill to be killed.

Trump has also fired back on his own social media platform, Truth Social.

His overarching narrative appears to be that Musk is opposing the bill because it would take away his EV mandate.

Musk then escalated the online beef by bringing up the Epstein files.

The files are a popular online shorthand to refer to a list of people that were complicit in the underage sexual activities that purportedly took place on Jeffrey Epstein's "island".

Trump had previously denied any connection to Epstein, saying he was never on his plane, or his "stupid" island.

Which led to another Truth Social post by Trump.

This was followed by quite a few more posts by Musk about Trump's Epstein connection, and Musk saying he would "begin decommissioning" the Dragon spacecraft, which is vital to ferrying astronauts to and from the International Space Station, immediately.
