New poly programme allows students to take modules from business, IT & engineering before choosing their course
Take a BITE and try first.
In the past, diploma courses were like standard set meals — fixed and predictable.
Now? They can be fusion bowls — a mix of cuisines — which is a balance of interest and familiarity.
Or like getting a gelato — where students get a taste of different "flavours" like Business, IT, and Engineering, before making a final decision.
Having skills in different fields is becoming more valuable in the workplace these days. So how can students build that kind of versatility?
Fret not, Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) is offering courses that combine two or more fields of study, in hopes of helping their graduates become attractive candidates to future employers.
Chances are, parents will love these choices too.

Common Business & Technology Programme (C24)
Interested in Business, IT, and Engineering (BITE) but not quite sure which field to dive into, why not consider the Common Business & Technology Programme?
This new first-of-its-kind cross-school Common Entry Programme is offered exclusively by NYP.
In this course, students will take foundational modules for these three fields in their first semester, giving them more time to explore their interests through hands-on experience and gain a clearer understanding before committing to a specific diploma by the end of semester one or two, depending on the path they choose.
It’s like taking a bite from the taster set before ordering a specific dish. Ideal for those who are adventurous but also pragmatic.

Biomedical Science? Analytics? To be honest, I don’t know much about them, but they definitely sound extremely relevant in today’s economy.
It goes without saying that data analytics and AI are in-demand hard skills right now.
In this course, students have the opportunity to develop analytical capabilities through modules such as AI & Data Analytics and Biochemical Analysis, which helps to open more doors than just to the biomedical industry.
Diploma in Business Management (C94)
It might be impossible to be a jack of all trades, but students can be a master of two, with NYP’s Diploma in Business Management. This is the only business diploma that allows students to pursue a dual specialisation starting in their second academic year.
Furthermore, it has introduced two new specialisations: Business Psychology, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Business Digitalisation to this diploma.
Here’s a quick look at the full list of specialisations it offers:
- Business Psychology [New specialisation]
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Business Digitalisation [New specialisation]
- International Business Management
- Marketing & Digital Communication
- Human Capital Management
- E-Commerce & Retail Management
- Supply Chain & Logistics Management

Opportunities from industry leaders and university partners
NYP has partnered with industry leaders like Amazon, DBS, FedEx, Raffles Hotel and many more, giving students the opportunity to learn directly from industry experts and gain hands-on, practical skills that are future-ready.
What’s more? Every student will get the chance to go overseas for enriching short trips, internships, or spend a semester with one of their 70 partners, including universities, in over 20 countries, such as France, Germany, South Korea, China and more.
These experiences give students broader exposure and a global perspective that goes beyond the classroom.
