22.2°C weather suddenly descends upon S'pore after 6 days of 34°C-36°C sweltering heat
A welcome respite.
After close to a week of very hot weather in Singapore, temperatures suddenly fell to 22.2°C at about 10am in Jurong West on May 29.
This was the lowest temperature recorded since May 23, according to the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS).
Stark contrast
This cooling weather was a stark contrast to the sweltering conditions in the last six days or so.
Temperatures hovered around the highs of 34°C to 35°C on previous days, while the lowest daily temperatures were between 24.6°C and 25.9°C.
On May 24, a temperature of 36.2°C was even recorded in Paya Lebar.
However, the mercury peaked at 30.5°C on Thursday.
The sudden cool weather was accompanied by overcast skies and rain over most parts of Singapore since morning, as well as extended periods of cool breeze.
At 1:30am on May 30, temperatures were between 24.7°C to 28.9°C.
