Singapore sprint queen Shanti Pereira has taken home a silver in the women's 100m final at the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships on May 28.
Pereira, the defending champion, clocked a timing of 11.41 seconds at the final held in Gumi, Republic of Korea, coming in just behind China's Liang Xiaojing.
Liang won gold with a timing of 11.37 seconds, with Vietnam's Tran Thi Nhi Yen earning the bronze in 11.54.
Pereira, 28, had qualified for the 100m finals by finishing second overall in the heats, behind Liang who led the field.
The Asian Athletics Championships are held every two years.
In 2023, Pereira had claimed a historic sprint double in Bangkok, Thailand, with gold medals in the 100m and 200m.
Pereira also set a national record of 11.20 seconds in the 100m final, a record which still stands today.
Pereira will next compete in the 200m heats on May 30.
