Manchester United started their Asian post-season tour with a disappointing 1-0 loss against the Asean All Stars in Malaysia.
29-year-old Myanmar striker Maung Maung Lwin, who plays for Thai mid-table team Lamphun Warriors, provided the only goal of the evening with a 70th minute strike past a helpless Tom Heaton.
The Asean All Stars could have nearly doubled their tally in the final stretch when they found themselves clear through on goal, but was stopped by an excellent tackle from 17-year-old Jim Thwaites.
Booed off
Manchester United was later booed off by its fans after the game.
Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim said he felt "guilty" for Man United's loss during the post match conference.

Singapore defender Irfan Fandi, who plays for Thailand's Port FC, also made an appearance in the match. He made some notable plays including casually dispossessing Alejandro Garmacho when he tried to cut in.
Manchester United will next play Hong Kong to round up their Asian tour.
The tour has been described by even former Arsenal player Jens Lehmann as "mad".
Coming just a few days after their Europa League final defeat to Tottenham, former United star Raphael Varane has also called for more rest for the team in the face of an increasingly packed schedule.
United is reportedly expected to make 8 million pounds (S$13.88 million) from the tour.
