Thai woman lied that 3 men robbed her so boyfriend wouldn't know she lost her ring, he breaks up with her after finding out

A 37-year-old Thai woman in Pattaya admitted to fabricating a story about three men on motorbikes robbing her of 32,000 baht (S$1,263) and an engagement ring she had gotten from her British boyfriend.

According to Pattaya News, the fabricated story has gone viral in Thailand.

The incident had initially been reported as a "violent robbery" by three "drug-addicted youths".

The department store employee admitted to lying about it after police found no CCTV footage supporting her claims.

During her hour-long interrogation, she admitted that she had made up the story so her boyfriend would not be angry at her for losing the ring.

According to Pattaya Mail, the woman wanted to obtain an official police report to lend credence to her story.

She was reportedly unaware that the situation would escalate into a criminal case.

The boyfriend reportedly left her after finding out she had lied.

The woman now face charges of filing a false police report.
