A man allegedly smashed a glass bottle on another man's head after reportedly getting into a dispute over a woman on the evening of May 25.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed with Mothership that they received a call for assistance at around 6:40pm near Kallang Riverside Park.

A witness told Shin Min Daily News that she was taking her elderly employer to the park for a walk around noon, where they saw a group of foreign workers and maids celebrating a birthday at a pavilion.

A man and a woman were engaged in intimate behaviour when a second man arrived and began cursing them out.

She said that the fight appeared to stem from a personal and emotional dispute between the three people.

Another passerby told the Chinese news outlet that a man in a black shirt was shouting agitatedly, and police and paramedics arrived later at the scene.

A video showed the man in white sitting on a chair while someone pressed a towel to his head.

The passerby said he did not see the fight, but he did see broken glass on the floor.

The man in the black shirt was later handcuffed and taken away by the police.

SCDF said its paramedics assessed a person for minor injuries, but the person declined to be sent to the hospital.

According to court documents seen by Shin Min, a 34-year-old man was charged on May 27 after allegedly hitting another man on the head with a glass bottle.
