World's tallest bridge opening in China in June 2025
The current tallest bridge in the world goes to the Millau Viaduct in France.

The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in Guizhou province, China, will become the tallest bridge in the world after its completion in June, standing at a height of 625 metres above river level.
In comparison, Singapore's tallest building, the Guoco Tower, stands at 290 metres.
The bridge will be 2,890 metres long with a width spanning 1,420 metres.
It is also known as the "earth crack" due to its structure spanning across a deep, narrow gorge.
Construction began on Jan. 18, 2022, and is slated to be completed by Jun. 30, 2025, according to Guizhou state media.
Authorities hope the bridge's completion will help improve tourism in the province by making the place more accessible.
Tallest vs highest bridge
The current title of the tallest bridge in the world goes to the 144.96-metre-long Millau Viaduct in France.
The tallest bridge is measured from the uppermost part of a bridge to its lowermost exposed part (where it can be seen above the surface of the ground or water).
For the highest bridge in the world, the winner goes to Beipanjiang Bridge Duge, also located in Guizhou, China at a mean high water of 565 metres as it spans across a deep river gorge.
Due to the mountainous nature of the province, Guizhou is home to nearly 30,000 bridges since the late 1970s and accounts for nearly half of the hundred tallest bridges in the world, reported local news outlets.
