Thai woman, 27, allegedly gives birth on street during Songkran festival with friends, leaves baby to die, continues festivities
She had blood flowing down her legs while splashing water with her friends.

A Thai woman allegedly gave birth on the side of a road in Bangkok before leaving the newborn child behind before rejoining her friends to celebrate the Songkran Festival, Thailand’s traditional New Year celebration.
Shocking video footage of the incident, which surfaced on Facebook on Apr. 17, allegedly showed the woman going into labour by the roadside.
In the video, the woman could be seen pulling down her clothing before appearing to be in pain.
She then squatted and leaned against a parked car, and appeared to leave something behind the potted plants before slowly limping away.
Later on in the 6-minute footage, a group of bystanders could be seen looking into the same area, where the newborn baby was reportedly found.
Paramedics and an ambulance arrived shortly after.
Celebrating while bleeding
According to The Thaiger, the Thai news Facebook page เจ๊ม้อย v+ (Jmoi v+) shared a photo of the deceased infant and the woman along with a brief report on Apr. 16.

The woman, later identified as Piyathida, was reportedly seen splashing water nearby with friends while visibly bleeding from her legs.
When confronted, she claimed she was menstruating and denied giving birth.
At the time, Piyathida was reportedly intoxicated.
However, as her condition worsened due to heavy bleeding, she eventually confessed and was rushed to Prachathipat Hospital.
Although the baby was found alive and resuscitation efforts were made, it ultimately passed away.
Police investigating
Superintendent Phuwadon Aoonpho of Don Mueang Police Station identified the woman as 27-year-old Piyathida.
He confirmed that authorities had not yet been able to formally question her, as she remains hospitalised due to significant blood loss.
He assured the public she will be held accountable for her actions.
Piyathida is said to have two other children, each from different ex-husbands.
Both children are currently under the care of relatives from their respective fathers' families.
Families cut ties with her
Piyathida’s friend, Am, gave an interview to Channel 3, expressing her disapproval and saying she will no longer be friends with the woman.
Am, who used to live together with the woman, said she had little contact with Piyathida after moving out up until the Songkran festival, when she invited her to join in the water celebrations.
She had suspected that Piyathida might have been pregnant but she reportedly denied it, claiming she was just gaining weight.
Am revealed that Piyathida lived alone in Thailand, as her mother moved abroad after remarrying a German man.
As she was unemployed, her mother sent her 700 baht (S$27.52) daily, according to Am.
Am also added that other family members and relatives have cut ties with Piyathida due to her behaviour.
