Fast food chain McDonald's will be closing down its Hougang Mall outlet on Apr. 14, 2025.

Customers who wish to visit the outlet one last time will need to place their orders by 10pm on Apr. 13.

According to a Mothership reader who visited the outlet at around 6:10pm, a notice had been put up on one of the glass panels at the outlet, informing diners of its impending closure.

In the notice, the outlet thanked all its customers for their patronage over the years and apologised for any inconvenience caused.

The outlet also invited diners to visit other McDonald's outlets nearby, including its branches at Block 684 Hougang Avenue 8, Block 208 Hougang Street 21, and Hougang 1 mall.

Not the only eatery closing down at Hougang Mall

McDonald's is not the only brand that will be closing down its Hougang Mall outlet in recent weeks.

KFC, for instance, had already shut down its outlet at the mall on Mar. 10.

Similarly, homegrown food chain Qiji announced that it will close down its outlet at the mall fom Mar. 22.

Mothership understands that Frasers Centrepoint Trust, which owns Hougang Mall, is rolling out an Asset Enhancement Initiative (AEI) for the mall to improve the retail experience for shoppers.

The mall remains operational as rejuvenation works will be carried out in phases from the second quarter of 2025 to the third quarter of 2026.

Shoppers can look forward to upgraded amenities, enhanced communal spaces, and new dining concepts upon the AEI's completion.

The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) also demarcated several parcels of land next to Hougang MRT station for development into a mixed-use commercial and residential development that comes with a bus interchange.
