The monsoon surge has affected not just Singapore but Johor as well with Johor Bahru being the worst affected.

Amidst the displacement and evacuation however, one heartwarming image has since emerged on social media — a video clip of a truck ferrying many motorcyclists across flooded roads.

Footage of the moment was shared to social media.

Many of the motorcyclists could be seen waving and filming the moment in the video clip.

At least one of the motorcyclists also appeared to be a delivery rider.

Many Facebook users praised the lorry driver in the comment section.

Sin Chew speculated that the driver might have done it to help the roughly 20 motorcyclists cross the flooded highway.

Sin Chew also said the video was likely filmed at the Tebrau Highway in Johor Bahru, as a sign pointing towards Woodlands could be seen in the background.

Five districts hit by floods, JB worst-hit

According to the Johor Disaster Management Committee, five districts in Johor have been affected by floods, with a total of 5,092 individuals from 1,284 families placed in 79 temporary relief centres.

The committee said that JB has the highest number of evacuees with 1,288 people, more than Kota Tinggi with 1,233 evacuees.

The other affected districts are Pontian (913 evacuees), Kulai (878 evacuees) and Kluang (780 evacuees), it said.

Nine river monitoring stations have also recorded water levels rising to dangerous levels.

Two roads in Kota Tinggi have been closed due to flooding.

Footage of the flooding in Johor shared to social media showed waterlogged streets, submerged vehicles and houses alike, and residents being evacuated en masse.
