
As of 7pm on Mar. 20, Jurong West had the highest total amount of rainfall across the island over Mar. 19-20 amid a monsoon surge, with 318mm of rain recorded.
In eastern Singapore, the highest amount of rainfall was 298.4mm.
According to PUB, these amounts over the two days are more than Singapore's average monthly rainfall of 209.7mm for the month of March.
Many areas experienced flooding over Mar. 19 and 20
PUB added that many areas of Singapore experienced heavy rainfall during the monsoon surge on these two days..
Flood risk warnings for several locations were issued , including Mountbatten Road/ Jalan Seaview, as well as along the PIE (towards Changi Airport) after TPE and ECP (towards Changi Airport) after Bayshore Road exit.
Notably, on Mar. 20, at about 2pm, a 15m stretch along the intersection of Mountbatten Road and Jalan Seaview experienced flooding for about two hours due to a combination of heavy rainfall and high tide.
This temporarily overwhelmed the adjacent canal and surrounding roadside drains.
There was also flooding within the premises of a nearby property.
PUB said its Quick Response Team (QRT) officers helped the residents set up portable barriers to mitigate the flooding. Portable pumps were also deployed to pump out water from the flooded road.
PUB added that its QRT teams have been deployed to flood-risk areas and are on standby to provide assistance.
The ongoing monsoon surge, Singapore's third since the start of 2025, was forecast to last till Mar. 21.
short-duration thundery showers are forecast in the afternoon on most days for the rest of March 2025.
Daily temperatures may range between 24°C and 34°C on most days.
Overall, the rainfall for the second fortnight of the month is expected to be above average over most parts of Singapore.
