Rain in S'pore & JB since Mar. 19

Continuous rain has fallen on both Singapore and JB since Mar. 19 due to a monsoon surge that formed over the South China Sea.

As a result of the monsoon surge, which is expected to last till Mar. 21, PUB, Singapore's national water agency issued several flash flood risk alerts and encouraged commuters to adjust their travel plans where needed.

The rainy conditions also worsened congestion at the Causeway land crossing on Mar. 19, prompting the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority to warn travellers of "heavy departure traffic" at 3:52pm.

At around 5pm on Wednesday, the Jalanow website estimated the crossing time from JB to Singapore to be one hour and 30 minutes.

As bus bays at the JB immigration complex were crowded with commuters waiting for their bus to Singapore, a woman apparently fainted while queueing.
