A prefabricated concrete structure meant for building public housing flats in Singapore fell onto the left-most lane of a road in Tuas.

A photo of the aftermath of the incident was posted to the SGRV Front Man Facebook group on Mar. 19.

The concrete block with its window grilles visible was not far from a trailer truck that carried similar-looking structures.

The police said they were alerted to the incident at Tuas South Avenue 9 around 7:40am on Mar. 19.

No injuries were reported.

A 31-year-old man, the trailer driver, is assisting in police investigations.

Responses

Several comments online remarked on the dangers posed by heavy vehicles carrying such loads.

Some speculated if the load fell off as it was not secured properly, or if the heavy vehicle had made a turn too quickly, or braked abruptly.

The load that fell off was deemed a hazard to other road users, particularly motorcyclists, if it were to hit them.

Others found it humorous that a part of a public housing flat had ended up in the middle of Tuas.
