S'pore F45 fitness trainer, 34, pleads guilty to filming 10 women showering & changing in gym

A F45 Training fitness gym trainer in Singapore pleaded guilty to filming 10 women in the gym's locker room as they changed and showered in 2024.

The 34-year-old man pleaded guilty to one charge of voyeurism on Mar. 19, Lianhe Zaobao reported.

Another charge will be taken into consideration during sentencing.

According to the Chinese media, the man had been a trainer at F45 Training for about three years.

The gym he worked at had two bathrooms and toilets for gym members to shower and change.

Hid the phone

Between Feb. 20 and Mar. 19, 2024, the trainer recorded his victims by hiding his phone on the false ceiling above the shower or toilet.

After each class, he placed his phone in that position and would retrieve it later.

During that period, he secretly recorded eight videos of nine women aged 20 to 30.

He knew two of his victims as they attended his classes.

Six of the women were filmed changing, while the other three were showering.

One of the victims was secretly filmed by the trainer three times while showering at the gym, Zaobao reported.

The videos ranged from 43 seconds to 12 minutes.

Caught

The trainer was finally caught on Mar. 21.

While drying her hair, the 10 victim discovered the phone in the false ceiling.

The victim immediately told her friend, who took the phone down and found it recording.

The pair then notified the gym manager, and the police were called.

In court, the prosecution noted that at least four of the victims were secretly recorded while naked, violating the victim's privacy.

Zaobao stated the trainer also saved the videos on his phone.

Pointing out that the trainer had hidden his phone in the false ceiling to avoid detection, the prosecution sought a jail term of three to four months.

The case has been adjourned till Apr. 8 for sentencing.
