Are you a Singaporean aged 52 or older?

You could be receiving a S$400 to S$1,000 CPF account top-up this month, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) said on Mar. 20.

The top-up is part of the Majulah Package introduced in 2024, under the Forward Singapore exercise.

Eligible Singaporeans will receive the first payment of the annual Earn and Save Bonus via direct crediting into their CPF accounts.

Who gets the Earn and Save Bonus?

The Earn and Save Bonus is meant to "boost the retirement savings of seniors who are working", said MOM.

Singaporeans born in 1973 or earlier will receive the annual Earn and Save Bonus if they meet the following criteria:

  1. Work and have an average monthly income of S$500 to S$6,000 in the preceding Year of Assessment;
  2. Live in a property with an Annual Value of S$31,000 and below; and
  3. Own not more than one property.

Citizens can check their eligibility for the Earn and Save Bonus on the govbenefits website (govbenefits.gov.sg) by logging in with their Singpass.

How much Earn and Save Bonus can Singaporeans seniors receive each year?

Eligible working seniors will receive the following Earn and Save Bonus, with a higher Bonus given to those with lower monthly incomes.

  • Those earning S$500 to S$2,500 get an annual Earn and Save Bonus of S$1,000.
  • Those earning above S$2,500 to S$3,500 get an annual Earn and Save Bonus of S$700.
  • Those earning above S$3,500 to S$6,000 get an annual Earn and Save Bonus of S$400.

The Earn and Save Bonus will be paid to the seniors' Retirement Account (RA) if it is available at the crediting date.

Otherwise, it will be paid to the Special Account.

For citizens aged 55 and above who have set aside the Full Retirement Sum or the Basic Retirement Sum with property in their RA, the Earn and Save Bonus will be paid to the Ordinary Account.

SMS notification in April 2025

MOM said eligible recipients will be notified via SMS in April 2025 after the Earn and Save Bonus has been credited to their CPF accounts.

Recipients without a Singpass-registered mobile number will be notified through a letter sent to the address on their Singapore identity card.

MOM highlighted that the SMS notification sent from “gov.sg” will only inform citizens of their benefits, to safeguard against scams.

"Citizens will not be asked to reply to the SMS, click any links, or provide any information to the sender. No messages regarding the payment will be sent through WhatsApp or other mobile messaging platforms," said MOM.

Those seeking more information on the Earn and Save Bonus may visit govbenefits.gov.sg or call the hotline at 1800-2222-888.
