KFC Hougang Mall outlet closes on Mar. 10, 2025

Fast food restaurant chain KFC has closed its Hougang Mall outlet on Mar. 10, 2025.

When Mothership visited the premises at around 7:20pm on Monday, the outlet had shuttered and blocked its window panels.

A notice on one of the window panels read: "This restaurant will cease operation with effect from Mar. 10, 2025. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

The notice also asked customers to visit other KFC outlets nearby, including one at Block 277C Compassvale Link and another at Hougang 1 mall.

Customer recalled years of fond memories at outlet

According to the customer who visited the outlet on Mar. 9, she and her family found the news of its closure "painful", as they all like KFC and the outlet manager, Alan.

"I took videos and photos to remember the restaurant. I cried because Alan is such a wonderful manager that makes our life so much easier when ordering. He has served our family faithfully for 10 years on a weekly basis," wrote the customer.

Mothership has reached out to KFC and Hougang Mall for comments.

Qiji Hougang Mall outlet closing down too

Besides KFC, homegrown food chain Qiji also announced on Facebook that it will close down its Hougang Mall outlet from Mar. 22, 2025.

In the announcement, Qiji said Mar. 21 will be the outlet's last day of operation and thanked its customers for "all the love and support over the years".

Qiji also invited patrons to visit other outlets nearby, including its branch at Hougang 1.
