Holland & Barrett announces sudden closure of all 12 outlets in S'pore
Allegedly surprising employees and members.

Customers and employees appear to have been left in the cold by the sudden closure of Holland and Barrett outlets in Singapore.
The closure was announced via Instagram on Mar. 10, 2025.
The British health and wellness chain, known for its vitamins, supplements, sports nutrition, beauty, and dietary products, has 12 outlets here, in locations such as Takashimaya Shopping Centre, 313@somerset, Isetan Scotts, Suntec City and Nex.
The retailer, however, was closing several outlets as early as Mar. 6, The Straits Times reported.
"Nightmare" situation for employees
According to ST, a post was put up on Facebook on Mar. 7 by someone identifying as an employee at Holland & Barrett.
The employee claimed that her co-workers were surprised and unprepared for the closure, and said the situation felt "like a nightmare".
MA Supplements, a subsidiary of Jay Gee Enterprises, first brought Holland & Barrett to Singapore in 2009, ST reported.
According to the government gazette, MA Supplements made a statutory declaration on Mar. 4 of its "inability to continue business by reason of its liabilities."
Members allegedly lose vouchers
On Mar. 4, a post was put up on the Complaint Singapore Facebook group by someone claiming to be a Holland & Barrett member.
The person said he had just renewed his membership in 2025, not knowing that the outlets would be shutting down soon.
"My entire S$300 till July will be wasted since the 70 per cent [discount] does not allow members to use additional vouchers for payments," he explained.
He warned others to at least buy some goods so that the membership would not go to waste.
The person also felt that Holland & Barrett should have been "kind enough" to stop taking new members in 2025, claiming that it knew it was closing down.
He also said he had his suspicions when he noticed that items in the store were not restocked as recently as Mar. 3 and the staff could not provide any details.
