S'pore's M³@Towns & RLAF raise S$266,000 for Gaza in just 2 weeks

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Maliki Osman spoke on Mar. 10 about a new initiative to raise funds for Gaza, a collaboration between M³@Towns and the Rahmatan Lil Alamin Foundation (RLAF).

Maliki, who is also Second Minister in the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, spoke the 2025 Muslim Affairs Committee of Supply (COS) debate.

Contribution on a global stage

Maliki spoke about the contribution that Singapore’s Malay/Muslim community was making on the global stage, specifically mentioning the efforts to support the people of Gaza.

Maliki said that the situation in Gaza remained volatile, and there were still tremendous needs in terms of humanitarian aid and reconstruction.

“The situation is more critical now in the month of Ramadan.”

Maliki said that early in March, the M³@Towns had worked with RLAF to launch the Aid for Gaza campaign.

The campaign aims to raise funds for Gaza through various ground-up initiatives.

Maliki revealed that the initiative had managed to collect S$266,000 in the first two weeks of the campaign, and that their ultimate target was S$600,000.

Critical humanitarian assistance

Maliki noted in his speech that over the past 18 months, Singaporeans of all races and faiths had contributed to providing critical humanitarian assistance to Gaza.

RLAF’s past fundraising campaigns has raised over S$13 million so far.

Singapore has sent seven tranches of humanitarian aid to Gaza, with the seventh, and most recent, delivered in February 2025.

Defence minister Ng Eng Hen revealed earlier that Singapore has so far delivered more than S$19 million in humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The various fundraising and humanitarian assistance had formed seven tranches of aid, of which several had been delivered in conjunction with the Republic of Singapore Air Force.

Ng also said that the Singapore Armed Forces was planning to provide medical assistance to displaced Palestinians, namely by sending SAF medical teams to nearby countries such as Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates in upcoming months.
