Man, 50, allegedly assaults & robs man, 33, of S$300 cash at Raffles Place

He will charged with robbery with hurt on Mar. 11.

A 50-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a 33-year-old man along Robinson Road on Mar. 9, 2025.

The accused also purportedly took away a bag from the victim, which contained cash amounting to S$300, said the Singapore Police Force (SPF) in a Mar. 10 news release.

As a result, the victim sustained minor injuries.

Arrested within 8 hours of report

According to the police, they were alerted to the case at around 12:35pm on Sunday.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras and CCTVs, officers from Central Police Division established the identity of the accused.

He was arrested within eight hours after the police report was made.

Cash amounting to S$172 and the bag were recovered.

To be charged with robbery with hurt

The accused will be charged in court on Mar. 11 with the offence of robbery with hurt.

The offence carries a jail term of not less than five years and not more than 20 years, as well as caning of not less than 12 strokes.

The police emphasised that they will not tolerate "such brazen acts of crime" and "will spare no effort to apprehend such offenders and deal with them in accordance with the law".

The police also advised members of the public who encounter such cases to remain calm, take note of the physical appearance as well as distinctive features of the perpetrator, and call for the police as soon as possible.
