Man, 58, arrested after brother, 56, found dead at Boon Lay flat
Police investigations are ongoing.
A 58-year-old man was arrested after police officers found the body of a 56-year-old man at a residential unit at Block 187 Boon Lay Avenue on Mar. 11 morning.
In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Police Force said they were alerted to the case at around 11:35am.
After police officers arrived, they found the younger man lying motionless inside the flat.
He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
Men are known to each other
According to the police, preliminary investigations revealed that both parties are known to each other.
The Straits Times reported that it understands the two men are brothers.
The older man was arrested at the scene "in relation to the case".
Police investigations are ongoing.
Neighbour heard 'loud arguments'
When ST reporters visited the public housing block at 5:25pm, the unit where the body was found had already been cordoned off.
At around 5:30pm, police officers removed a black body bag from the unit.
A woman who lives next door told ST that she often heard "loud arguments" coming out from the flat, although she was unsure what the arguments were about.
When she returned to her residence at 1pm, she saw the accused sitting on the staircase in handcuffs, surrounded by police officers.
