'Save our screens': Cathay Cineplexes selling S$100 voucher sets of 10 movie tickets & 10 popcorn & water combos

In a bid to "Save [its] screens", Cathay Cineplexes is selling voucher sets consisting of 10 movie tickets and 10 sets of popcorn and drink combos for just S$100.
Each voucher in the set worth S$10 would entitle the moviegoer to a standard movie ticket, a tub of popcorn and a bottle of water.
10 of these vouchers would usually be priced at a total of S$223, which means moviegoers will get to enjoy these movie tickets, as well as popcorn and water, for less than half the usual price.
For those who would like to "support Cathay", as its promotional poster reads, moviegoers can pre-order the vouchers and collect them over the counter at all Cathay Cineplexes outlets from Feb. 21 to Mar. 31, 2025.
The vouchers can be used from Monday to Sunday, including the eve of public holidays and public holidays, and is valid until Dec. 31, 2025.

Four cinema closures between 2022 and 2024
Cathay Cineplexes has seen four cinema closures between 2022 and 2024.
The Cathay Cineplex at The Cathay building in Dhoby Ghaut shut down in June 2022.
Subsequently, it closed its branches at Cineleisure Orchard, Parkway Parade, and AMK Hub between Jun. 30, 2023 and Jun. 30, 2024.
Six cinemas operating
In October 2024, Cathay Cineplexes acquired and took over the operations of WE Cinemas at 321 Clementi.
The acquisition brought the number of Cathay Cineplexes cinemas in Singapore to six, located at Causeway Point, Century Square, Clementi 321, Downtown East, JEM, and West Mall.
