When faced with a dilemma, one foodpanda rider thought outside the box to deliver a customer's food.

On Sep. 7, TikTok user Muqtasid Jun Jie shared how he delivered the customer's food, despite the path to the unit being blocked off.

Stuck

Speaking to Mothership, the rider shared that he was delivering an order from McDonald's to the customer's house in Choa Chu Kang.

However, when he reached the block, he found a note stating that resurfacing work was in progress.

When he arrived on the customer's floor, he saw his path blocked by a worker doing resurfacing work.

He noted that he could not access the customer's unit through the stairwell.

The worker could also not help the rider get to the unit as the cement would take at least an hour to dry.

After sharing his predicament with the customer, he thought of the rope method as the customer lives on the second floor.

Quick thinking

After asking if the customer had a short rope, the rider inquired how short it was.

He also pointed out he could not drag her order as he had another order to send.

Ultimately, the customer used a silicon door seal about four to five metres long as a rope.

When he asked her to throw the "rope" down, the customer threw the whole rope down.

It took three attempts to throw the "rope" back to the customer, where a worker who saw the incident helped to throw it back up.

The rider then instructed the customer to tie the "rope" to the clothing rack and, once it was secure, to throw the other end back down.

He tied the package to one end of the "rope", and the customer then hauled up her food to the second floor.
