The teenagers involved in the Qihua Primary School bullying case have been identified, said the police in a Sep. 25 statement.
Five of them have been arrested for their suspected involvement in a case of rioting.
"The police takes a serious view of such acts of violence and blatant disregard of the law," the Singapore Police Force (SPF) added.
"We will not hesitate to take action and deal with the offenders in accordance with the law."
Police investigations are ongoing.
The video
In a video that was circulated on social media, a boy in a Qihua Primary School uniform was seen being allegedly assaulted by older youths.
He was punched and kicked by an older youth in a black t-shirt, while apologising and repeating "it hurts".
A subsequent photo, which was posted on SGFollowsAll's Telegram page, showed the boy surrounded by three youths, including the one who was previously seen hitting him.
The trio were seen posing with cigarettes. The youth with the black t-shirt had his foot propped on the boy's shoulder, and a slipper was placed on top of the boy's head.
In response to Mothership's queries, Qihua Primary School said it is aware of the incident and that it is under police investigation.
“The safety and well-being of our students is our priority. We have provided counselling to the affected students and are working closely with their parents to ensure the well-being of all involved,” the school said.
