Balenciaga recently released a towel skirt for S$1,250 as part of its Spring 24 Collection.
S$1,250 towel skirt
The cloth is listed as "Balenciaga Towel Skirt" on the website, and is said to be made of beige terry cotton.
The unisex skirt comes in sizes S and M.
There are two buttons at the waistline and an adjustable buckled belt on the inside, according to the product description.
It sits mid-waist and is meant to graze your knees.

It can only be dry cleaned.
Which is ironic, considering it's a towel.
If you're into wearing towels outdoors, though, there's a cheaper alternative.
S$12.50 towel skirt
IKEA UK recently introduced its version of the towel on Instagram.
Aside from needing a bit of ironing, the towel seems wearable.
It's called the "VINARN Towel Skirt", and costs only S$12.50 on IKEA's Singapore website.
Unlike the Balenciaga towel that only comes in beige, the IKEA towel offers you other choices of light blue, light pink, and light grey.
It even shares a similar waffle border as the Balenciaga skirt.
"A 2024 Spring fashion essential," the furniture retailer called it, complete with "#Fashion" in the caption.
Blue bag incident
This isn't the first time IKEA has trolled the high fashion brand (if it was a trolling attempt), according to Vogue.
In 2017, Balenciaga dropped a S$2,996 blue tote bag which bore a suspicious resemblance to IKEA's shopping bag which currently costs S$1.
It inspired the IKEA marketing team put together this ad:
