Hundreds gathered at the HSBC Rain Vortex at Jewel Changi Airport to catch a glimpse of Prince William as he arrives in Singapore ahead of the Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony 2023.
The Prince of Wales will be in Singapore from Nov. 5 to Nov. 8. where he will also attend the United for Wildlife Global Summit, as well as go dragon boating and meet Singaporeans.
His last visit to Singapore was in 2012 with the Princess of Wales Kate Middleton during the Diamond Jubilee Tour.
Princess Kate will not be accompanying Prince William on this trip, as she will be staying back in the U.K. to help prepare her 10-year-old son, Prince George, for his school exams, People reported.
Many have gathered to see Royalty
A mother and two of her daughters shared with Mothership that they arrived at around 3pm to get close to meet the Prince.
"I'll be able to see his pores up close," said the older daughter.
Many of those gathered can be seen waving the Union Jack. Some can be spotted on the upper floors of Jewel and outside the Rain Vortex.
Another Singaporean family was at Jewel for a day out when they noticed the large crowd. After searching the internet and realised Prince William was arriving, they stayed on.
One of the daughters shared that she likes Princess of Wales and wishes the Princess was coming, but she is still excited to see Prince William.
A family from New Caledonia, who were in Singapore for a short trip, came to Jewel to spend a day out and told Mothership they did not know that Prince William would be there.
Similar to the previous family, they saw the crowd and decided to stay and meet the prince.
One Singaporean mother-daughter duo came to Jewel Changi to see Prince William.
The daughter, 17, told Mothership that it was fascinating to see a royal person in Singapore.
