A Grab driver, who allegedly asked his passenger to get out of the car after making racist remarks, has been suspended, the ride-hailing company said.
A video of the alleged incident has been circulating online since Oct. 10.
In the clip shot from the backseat of the vehicle, the driver could be heard saying “a rubbish Indian” to the passenger.
The driver could also be heard telling the passenger that he made him wait for a long time during pick-up and then was told what route to take.

The passenger said in response that “it doesn’t matter” if he was late as extra charges would be levied on the Grab application.
The driver then kept telling the passenger to “get down”, but he continued driving.
The passenger responded to the driver by asking if he was “being racial”.
The driver initially denied that he was.
The passenger then said he was, and the driver replied that Indians tend to be late from what he knows.
The exchange continued for a while more before the driver raised his voice further and told the passenger to “get out”.
In response to media queries, Grab said its driver-partners are not to discriminate against passengers in any way and are expected to treat them fairly.
“This is in line with our code of conduct," Grab said in a statement.
“We take a strong stance against discriminatory behaviour and language on our platform and have since suspended the driver-partner.”
