A Malaysian entrepreneur, Haliza Maysuri, claimed that her husband bought a BMW car for her pet cat, Money.
This was revealed in a glossy video on her Instagram page.
The clip showed the cat, in a red dress by a fashion designer, being taken to the car key handover session.
The Instagram post's caption read: "Money acting like a diva in her red gown."
The cat was then brought into the car to inspect its interior.
Reactions
Reactions to the video were divided.
Some congratulated the founder of Bawal Exclusive for doing well for herself.
Others, who disapproved of the content, said the video was cheap content and she should not resort to such gimmicks.
Follow-up video
In a trio of follow-up Instagram posts, Haliza explained that the video was part of her "soft-sell" marketing efforts for her apparel brand.
The woman explained that she settled on a lifestyle concept featuring her cat, as she observed online viewers gravitated to such content.
She also shared that she had not been sleeping because she had to come up with ideas, given how competitive business has been, as she has been in the industry for 25 years.
Haliza Masyuri also explained that the car was a gift from her husband for her 45th birthday, and the video was only filmed on the day the key was handed over.
She also claimed that such a concept as a marketing effort was more effective than relying on using studio shots.
She ended her subsequent posts by thanking those who messaged her, and saying that her wealth has allowed her to donate to others in need.
