A boy in Malaysia miraculously survived being hit twice by two separate vehicles after tumbling from a moving car in Malaysia.

The incident happened after the car that the boy was travelling in made a U-turn at a traffic light near Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra, Kelantan, Malay Mail reported.

A dashcam footage capturing the harrowing incident was posted on X, formerly Twitter, garnering over 780k views at the time of writing.

What happened

The 25-second video clip dated Oct. 17, 5.42pm shows a grey car making a U-turn at a traffic light when a boy fell out from the left side of the passenger seat.

The boy was then hit by a white car making a U-turn while he was on the ground.

He quickly stood up and started walking, but was struck again by a red car making a U-turn with greater impact, causing him to flip over onto the ground.

Despite the collision, the boy managed to regain his footing and walked amid the busy traffic toward a motorist who comforted him.

Investigation ongoing

The police at Kelantan are tracing the owner of the moving car from which the boy fell out.

State police chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun said the child presumably tumbled out of the car as the rear left passenger side door was not properly closed.

"In addition, the driver of the car failed to ensure that the child [was] wearing a seat belt," he said, as quoted by Malay Mail.

"We are trying to identify the vehicle as well as the child involved and investigations are ongoing,” he said at a press conference at the Kelantan Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) on Oct. 18.

Muhamad Zaki said that the case is being investigated under Section 43 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

He appealed for eyewitnesses, the driver of the car, and dashcam footage owner to assist with the investigation.
