Have you heard the song "Golden Hour"?

Because millions of people around the world have and were brought to tears by its cascading piano phrasing and laidback vocals.

Numerous renditions of the song by American singer-songwriter JVKE have since proliferated online -- to major reactions.

And we have one live version of it performed right here in Singapore by a violinist after she walked in on a pianist playing it publicly at Suntec Tower 5.

"Golden Hour" performed at Suntec Tower 5

Jocelyn Ng, who is a violinist for JJ Lin, posted a TikTok of her moment with the pianist doing his thing at the public piano while walking through Suntec Tower 5.

@jocelynviolin ❗️footage was shared to me from the pianist. Beautiful things happen impromptu :) thank you @daimdean304 for the video! #sgmusic #shmusicians #sgmusician #violinpiano #violinandpiano #violincover #goldenhour #goldenhourjvke #goldenhourcover #sgviolinist #violinist ♬ original sound - Jocelyn Ng

The reactions to the piece, as expected, were huge.

Highly recognisable tune

This was due to the song being a major earworm and highly recognisable, and having trended repeatedly over many months on platforms such as TikTok.

Ng, who was accompanied by her mother, spliced together footage her parent shot together with the video taken by the pianist, Daim Dean.

The result speaks for itself.

Responses

The responses to the video have been unanimously positive.

With more than 287,000 views and and 30,000 likes in six days, Ng's video has been praised for showing that people in Singapore are highly talented.

Comments ranged from "and thats how i met your mother" to "I thought this only happens in ang moh countries" to "the passerbys are so lucky to have witnessed this magical duet".
