A video of a prankster in Indonesia pretending to be a pocong standing on the side of the road being kicked and beaten by residents has gone viral on social media.
The incident occurred in Demak, Central Java on Apr. 2 at 230am, Kompas reported.
The prankster has since been reprimanded by the police.
Kicked and dragged
A pocong is a ghost in Indonesian and Malaysian folklore, said to be the soul of a dead person trapped in their burial shroud.
Clearly, not something you would want to see by the side of the road.
In the video, a man can be seen approaching a "pocong" and kicking him until he fell to the ground.
The man who was shooting the video can be heard exclaiming he was "startled".
A few men proceeded to surround the pocong before kicking and hitting him.
Another man could be heard calling the pocong "insolent".
When the man recording suggested reporting the pocong to the police, someone replied by saying they will bring the pocong to the station "immediately".
The video ended with the pocong being dragged away.

Pranks carried out by minors
According to Kompas, the prankster was taken to the Bonang Police, Demak.
The Demak Police Chief AKBP Budi Adhy Buwono confirmed the arrest and stated that the perpetrator's motive was to prank others.
A friend of the perpetrator who was at the scene during the incident was also apprehended.
As they were both minors, they were eventually handed back to their families to be disciplined.
The two children were also asked to make a written statement promising not to cause anxiety to the residents in the future.
"We provided guidance and called on [their] parents, head of the neighbourhood association, head of the citizen association, and the village head to assist with monitoring [the two children]," Budi said.
"We have also ordered the perpetrators to make a statement so they don't repeat their actions," he added.
Budi also asked the public not to mimic the boy's actions as it could endanger themselves and others, Urban Jakarta reported.
"I hope people don't take this kind of action, because it can endanger themselves and others. Don't be easily provoked by things that are not clear," he said.
