Cup noodles are the pinnacle of portable cuisine?
Not so fast.
Enter Malaysia's answer to your standard-fare cup ramen: cup nasi lemak.
Food writer Yeoh Wee Teck shared about his discovery in a TikTok video.
"Spotted this wonderful idea at Penang Airport's Old Town Express," he wrote.
The dish, served in a sealed plastic cup, appears to contain most of the standard nasi lemak fixings: ikan bilis, egg, cucumber, peanuts, and a generous helping of sambal chili.
It comes with the layered aesthetic.
Yeoh also posted about it on Instagram, calling it "one of the cleverest things [he] found".
"How convenient. Just give it a good shake, and it's good," he wrote in the caption.
But how does it taste?
According to Yeoh, it's just "not bad". "Good enough for airport food," he wrote in his TikTok video.
Still, for RM4.90 (S$1.47), it sounds like a pretty good deal.
