Sengkang will have a new hawker centre – Anchorvale Village Hawker Centre – expected to open in the first quarter of 2024.

According to The Straits Times, it will be at 339 Anchorvale Road, near Sengkang Sports Centre and Farmway LRT station.

Located in Anchorvale Village

Anchorvale Village is a "New Generation Neighbourhood Centre" located at Anchorvale Road, the Housing and Development Board announced in September last year.

Set to open in the second half of 2023, the centre is designed with three levels of retail spaces such as supermarkets, restaurants, eateries, shops and enrichment centres.

There will also be a hawker centre on the second storey, HDB added.

The new space is expected to have 36 cooked-food stalls and 650 seats, according to ST.

New hawker centres

Singapore will see two new hawker centres in 2023, said Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment, at the ministry's Committee of Supply (COS) debate on Mar. 2, 2023.

The first hawker centre will have 38 stalls and 721 seats and is located in the Buangkok area – specifically within the newly opened Sengkang Grand Mall.

The second hawker centre will be built at Woodleigh Village, near Woodleigh MRT station, with 39 stalls and 725 seats.

It is set to open in the second half of 2023.
