Honda Jazz crashes & flips on PIE, female driver, 24, assisting with investigations

The accident cut off at least three lanes on a Saturday afternoon.

A Honda Jazz was caught on video flipping over after crashing into the road divider along the Pan Island Expressway.

Footage of the accident has been put up online.

The clip showed the red Honda travelling along the left-most lane behind a truck, before skidding towards the right-most lane and hitting the expressway road divider.

The Honda narrowly missed hitting a white car, a taxi, as well as the car recording the scene.

According to the video's caption, the car allegedly clipped the truck before crashing.

A photo put up online showed that the accident caused a traffic jam, as at least three lanes were closed off in the aftermath of the crash.

The police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the accident on the Pan-Island Expressway towards Changi Airport, before Stevens Road exit, on Saturday, Feb. 18 at about 12:20pm.

The 24-year-old female driver is being investigated for careless driving causing hurt, the police added.

Along with her, two male passengers, aged 28 and 21, and two female passengers, aged 46 and 22, were conscious when they were taken to the hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.
