A thin dog with scratches all over its body was rescued from a Singapore army camp in October 2022.

Named Holly, the dog was found with peeling skin and open wounds all over its body.

HOPE Dog Rescue Singapore is urgently seeking a new fosterer for Holly, the volunteer animal rescue organisation said in a Facebook post on Mar. 23, 2023.

Holly has to move out of her current foster home by Mar. 30, 2023.

Despite the tight deadline, HOPE Dog Rescue Singapore is unable to find her a home, and no one has responded to their call to foster her.

"We're concurrently checking on boarding facilities, but the right ones are far and few between," HOPE Dog Rescue Singapore wrote in their post, adding:

"What worries us is Holly may feel displaced and confused left at boarding. All those months in a foster home may go down the drain, just when she has started to open up."

Holly is described as a sweet dog despite being afraid of humans. While wary, Holly has never snapped and will retreat to her private space when scared.

HOPE Dog Rescue Singapore is appealing to anyone with experience with Singapore Specials and who can care for Holly for as long as it takes to find her a permanent home.

Found in the vicinity of an army camp

In their Facebook post on Oct. 22, 2022, HOPE Dog Rescue Singapore shared that they were linked up with a volunteer from another animal community group to help catch Holly.

They contacted the relevant army personnel with suggestions for trapping the dog, and managed to lure Holly into an escape-proof enclosed room before securing her.

Those who wish to help foster Holly can get in touch with HOPE Dog Rescue Singapore at hopedogrescue@singnet.com.sg.
