Digital vocational licences will be launched on the Singpass mobile application for the following on Apr. 1:

  • Taxi Driver's Vocational Licence
  • Bus Driver's Vocational Licence
  • Private Hire Car Driver's Vocational Licence
  • Bus Attendant's Vocational Licence
  • Omnibus Vocational Licence

The launch was done by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) in collaboration with the Government Technology Agency (GovTech).

The digital vocational licence will be automatically available on the Singpass app from Apr. 1 and can be accessed from the "My Cards" section of the app alongside the digital identification card and the driver's licence.

The introduction of the digital licence is part of the government's efforts to digitalise more services to provide greater convenience to members of the public.

The digital licences will be made complimentary to vocational licence holders.

Vocational licence holders will no longer need to worry about replacing lost or damaged physical cards as they can access their digital licences through the Singpass app.

The digital licences will also be accepted as identification for entry into places, such as Jurong Island and restricted areas in Changi Airport, as well as petrol stations which offer loyalty programmes.

Vocational licence holders are advised not to capture screenshots of their digital licences or share their Singpass login details with others to protect themselves against unauthorised access.

LTA will no longer issue physical licences from Apr. 1, 2023.

Drivers who still wish to obtain a physical vocational licence can apply for one with LTA at a fee of S$21.60.

The initial fee of S$40 needed to apply for a vocational licence will not be changed.

For older drivers who are not as technologically adept, information on how to access the digital licences has been made available as supplementary training material for new vocational licence applicants, as well as drivers attending refresher courses.

Additionally, drivers can also refer to a guide on how to access the digital licence on LTA’s OneMotoring website.
