A 23-year-old online seller was robbed by men armed with parangs and axes when he was in his car at a Johor Bahru building around 9:45am on Monday (Mar. 13).
Those who were in the vicinity and witnessed the robbery uploaded photos and videos of the incident online.
Victim trapped in car blockade
A video showed the victim’s pick-up truck trapped between a white and a black car.
Three men wearing cowboy hats proceeded to smash the victim's vehicle, breaking the windows and forcing open the doors.
The victim tried accelerating and reversing to break free from the blockade — while the robbers continued to swing their weapons at him.
Victim almost got away but vehicle broke down
The victim's vehicle finally managed to squeeze through the front, but his ordeal did not end there — his car broke down after a short distance away.
The robbers caught up with him and, after another tussle, got away with what was believed to be a bag of cash.
Photos showed the victim was left bloodied with injuries on his face.
