A video showing what looks like a bloodied severed leg on the streets of Singapore was circulated online recently.

The video was shared to a Facebook group but has since been deleted.

The 15-second clip first showed a few large rubbish bins and several cardboard boxes scattered on the ground at a rubbish chute area.

The camera then turned to the severed leg for about 5 seconds.

The leg, a left leg, appeared cleanly cut just under the knee.

Some viewers opined it could be a prosthesis instead.

According to the Chinese media, Lianhe Zaobao, the police confirmed that a 31-year-old man was found dead at Blk 37 Margaret Drive on March 4.

The police were alerted to the case at around 12:35pm that day.

The video is real.

The man was found motionless and was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

The police classified the case as an unnatural death.

Based on preliminary investigations, the police do not suspect foul play.

Investigations are ongoing.
