Singaporean Paralympian Yip Pin Xiu clocked her season best timing of 2 minutes 14.46 seconds in the women's 100 metres backstroke S2 heats at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games on Aug. 25.
With that timing, Yip came in first in the event, which qualifies her for the finals.
The reigning gold medallist of the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games will be defending her crown at 4.40pm on the same day.

In a Facebook post, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Edwin Tong congratulated Yip on her win.
"Congratulations Pin Xiu for blazing through your heats!! Can't wait to catch you at the finals later at 4.40pm today! 🇸🇬"
President of the Singapore National Olympic Council and Speaker of Parliament Tan Chuan-Jin was full of praise for Yip's win and commented on Tong's post.
"Super awesome! Look at the margin!!" Tan commented.
Feng Yazhu from China was in second place with a time of 2:32.44 minutes, while Japan's Yamada Miyuki came in third with 2:34.35 minutes.
