Those looking to replace faulty tokens, or tokens out of battery power, TT tokens may do so via the TT token replacement vending machines instead.

This is part of the Smart Nation and Digital Government Group's (SNDGG) plans to gradually scale back physically manned token booths and counters at shopping malls and community centre (CC).

Rollout

The machine will allow for a token to be replaced, if the previous collection was more than 60 days ago.

Those who collected their previous tokens less than 60 days ago will still need to visit a manned token booth to replace their tokens.

More of such machines will be rolled out progressively to more than 40 malls and all 108 CCs, starting Aug. 25 and Aug. 30 respectively.

Each vending machine will hold about 1,400 tokens, and users can replace their tokens anytime.

The selected malls with token replacement vending machines can be found at the TokenGoWhere website.

Phasing out of manned booths

The roll-out of the TT token replacement vending machines is expected to be completed by end-October.

At the same time, the number of Token booths at shopping malls and CCs will be scaled back.

The existing 17 token replacement booths at malls will cease operations on Aug. 31, after vending machines have been deployed in their place.

However, token counters in the CCs will be scaled back at a later date.

Counters will remain in areas with a higher concentration of seniors, as they may require more assistance when replacing their tokens.

The list of TT token booths can be found on the TokenGoWhere website.

Free delivery service for new token users

First timers who have yet to collect a TraceTogether token can now get it delivered to their homes for free.

Singaporeans, Permanent Residents, and long term pass holders, who are first time token users, can request for the free home delivery service.

The service can be accessed via the TokenGoWhere website and the request will be made through logging in to an existing SingPass account.

Those without a SingPass account will either be directed to register for one, or to collect their token at a CC personally.

Once the request is processed successfully, the token will be delivered to the user's mailbox within two weeks.

The delivery service will not apply to the replacement of tokens.
