From Aug. 29 to Sep. 12 (closed on Mondays), a 100-year-old colonial house at Temenggong Road will be open to the public for an art exhibition.

"Expressing Heritage: Art & Originality Unfold" is curated by Temenggong Artists-In-Residence, a private non-profit charity that manages art residencies programmes.

The organisation aims to support local artists, art projects, as well as foster art and cultural exchanges.

What to expect

Light projection

The visual art presentation will feature a light projection by PHUNK, among other works.

The light projection is a work of moving image of a calligraphy brush writing the Chinese character love, 愛, by Singaporean artist Henri Chen's hand, juxtaposed with PHUNK's own font that will pop up simultaneously.

The moving image will be projected on the exterior of Temenggong house.

Board game installation

Visitors can also look forward to a board game installation by Sonny Liew, author of the Eisner-winning "The Art of Charlie Chan Hock Chye".

The game features the happenings of the era of colonial governance in 1819 Singapore.

Liew explores his own pages of history based on research of historical facts and imagines what might have happened during that era.
