Police have arrested a 48-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of attempted snatch theft in Sengkang.
According to an Aug. 16 police news release, police received a report at around 4pm on Aug. 12 that an unknown man had allegedly attempted to snatch a female victim's gold chain along Sengkang East Way.
The man then fled after the woman shouted for help.
Officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division arrested the man three days later, on Aug. 15, after establishing his identity through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras.
If found guilty of snatch theft, he could face a prison term of at least one year but no more than seven years, as well as caning.
