The Public Utilities Board (PUB) deployed its Quick Response Team to the junction of Tampines Avenue 10 and Pasir Ris Drive 12 earlier today (August 20) to render assistance to motorists and pedestrians who were affected by flooding in the area.

Officers from the Land Transport Authority (LTA), Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the police were on hand to offer help as well.

The agency reported that the flood occurred towards the TPE entrance, and subsided at 9.40am.

PUB said that the affected area is not low-lying nor is it a flood hot spot.

Hence, it is investigating the cause of the flood to ascertain if any construction works in the vicinity had tempered with drains or obstructed the drainage flow of stormwater.

PUB said:

"In the event of a flood, motorists are advised not to drive into flooded areas. If floodwater rises around the car and stalls it, motorists should leave their car and move to higher ground if they can do so safely."
