The Tokyo Olympics have featured songs from famous anime and video games.
The athletes have also shown their love for anime throughout the games.
The two most prominent, because of how the official One Piece page recognised their tributes, were One Piece fans from Greece and U.S.
Greek long jumper Miltiadis Tentoglou broke out Luffy's Gear Second pose, while American shot putter Payton Ottherdal struck a "Super" pose by Franky.

Miltadis actually went on to win gold in the long jump.

Another athlete, and gold medalist incidentally, that appeared to shout out the long-running anime was Massimo Stano.
There was some debate as to whether the sign was indeed shouting out One Piece, but the man is clearly a fan.
He also put up fan art of the Gear Third comparison.
The official One Piece social media for their part also paid tribute to their fans.

Other anime
Another popular tribute was athletes charging up a Kamehameha, the energy burst seen in many a Dragon Ball iteration.
One of the many athletes who pulled it off was American sprinter Noah Lyles.

Team USA raised an intriguing question though, was this the Kamehameha or the criminally underrated Hadouken?
Based on Lyles' previous Instagram entries, probably the Goku one.
